Nuts TV relaunches programming
Nuts TV, the Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) channel aimed at men, is overhauling its programming structure to create four strands across the entire schedule.
The four themed genres will run consecutively from 8pm and are called Cops & Crashes, Football, Fights & Darts and Girls. The latter strand will run from midnight until 1 am.
After its initial foray into original production with Football Hurts tracking AFC Wimbledon and the WKD Shed Sports Show the channel is to produce further original shows and put more resources into acquiring football related content.
Director of programming Joe Talbot said: “We’ve listened carefully to the feedback from our viewers and how they would like to see the channel progress. I am very happy to announce the evolution of Nuts TV into its second phase.”
There will be an advertising campaign introducing the four genres under the recently introduced Nuts TV tag line “Nuts TV – get it regularly” in mid-May.
In November the channel launched its first TV campaign created by Monkey with the strapline “9 pm to 1 am is Man-Time.”
Nuts TV was “inspired by” the IPC magazine of the same name but is independent of the publisher. TBS and IPC are both owned by Time Warner.
The station launched on Freeview last September and debuted on BSkyB in January. TBS has issued figures stating the channel attracted 2.3 million viewers for January and February combined.
