Katie VanneckKatie Vanneck, Times Media sales and marketing director, is stepping into Mike Anderson's role as News International's managing director of digital and new business on an interim basis.

Anderson is taking time off for personal reasons.

The changes are effective immediately and it is not known how long Vanneck will be in the interim position or when Anderson is likely to return.

News International says however she will "maintain strategic oversight" of Times Media, which includes The Times, The Sunday Times and Times Online.

Susie Bourne, currently head of marketing operations, will step in to handle the Times Media marketing function on a day-to-day basis.

Vanneck returned the publishing company last year, after having worked as marketing director at Telegraph Media Group for two and a half years. She appointed Clemmow Hornby Inge as the advertising agency for The Times upon arrival.

Prior to that role she was digital director and then became promotions director at The Times in 2003.

News International is meant to be naming a chief marketing officer overseeing all its titles but there is no sign of any appointment yet. Marketing for The Sun and News of the World is handled by Roland Agambar.
