National newspaper websites see drop in traffic
The Sun, The Mail and the Telegraph websites have all seen a drop in the number of unique visitors they attracted in November compared to the previous month, according to the latest ABCe report.
The Sun recorded a drop of 4.09 per cent to 16,427,790 visitors in November on the previous month. The Telegraph fell 1.08 per cent to 22,958,505 visitors while MailOnline dropped 1.54 per cent to 20,869,627.
The drop in traffic may reflect the boost given to October’s figures by the American presidential election.
The Guardian website guardian.co.uk continues to attract the most visitors out of the national newspaper sites with a 0.26 per cent rise on October to 26,043,747. The Times Online and The Independent both saw strong jumps in November; the former rose 5.49 per cent to 21,598,720 and the latter rose 5.7 per cent to 8,888,221.
Mirror Group Digital also rose 1.43 per cent to 5,916,155.
