BSkyB withdraws bid for Tiscali UK
BSkyB has withdrawn its bid for Tiscali's UK business after the two companies disagreed over price, according to reports.
Tiscali is said to have expected £600m for its UK business, but the offer from BSkyB is around the £450m mark.
Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone have both previously looked at buying the Italian company, but its high price was cited as a reason for deals not being pursued.
If BSkyB picks back up the deal, it would go onto become Britain's third biggest broadband provider passing Carphone Warehouse-owned TalkTalk.
Tiscali has 1.8m UK broadband users.
